Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Bread Pan
  • Floured Surface

Ingredients

For the Chocolate Milk Bread

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour provides the structure
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder adds rich chocolate flavor
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon salt enhances flavor
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm chocolate milk at 110°F/43°C
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted for richness
  • 1 large egg binds the mixture

Instructions

  • Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
  • Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm chocolate milk, melted butter, and egg until fully combined.
  • Step 3: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Step 4: Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Step 5: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Step 6: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while the dough rises.
  • Step 7: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf in a greased bread pan.
  • Step 8: Cover the loaf again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Step 9: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  • Step 10: Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
