Ingredients

6 small apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)

2 cups granulated sugar

1 cup water

1/2 cup light corn syrup

White gel food coloring

Edible white glitter

6 wooden sticks

Instructions

  • Insert sticks into the tops of each apple, ensuring they’re firmly in place.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with non-stick spray.
  • In a medium, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, then stop stirring.
  • Place the pan over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, without stirring, until it reaches 300°F (149°C) on a candy thermometer (hard crack stage), about 15-20 minutes.
  • Once it reaches the correct temperature, immediately remove from heat and quickly add the white gel food coloring and edible glitter dust. Swirl gently to combine.
  • Working quickly, dip each apple into the candy mixture, coating evenly. Allow excess to drip back into the pan, then place the coated apple onto the prepared parchment.
  • Let apples cool completely until the coating hardens and sparkles. Serve or wrap for a beautiful, edible gift
