Total Time 35 minutes mins
6 small apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
White gel food coloring
Edible white glitter
6 wooden sticks
Insert sticks into the tops of each apple, ensuring they’re firmly in place.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with non-stick spray.
In a medium, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, then stop stirring.
Place the pan over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, without stirring, until it reaches 300°F (149°C) on a candy thermometer (hard crack stage), about 15-20 minutes.
Once it reaches the correct temperature, immediately remove from heat and quickly add the white gel food coloring and edible glitter dust. Swirl gently to combine.
Working quickly, dip each apple into the candy mixture, coating evenly. Allow excess to drip back into the pan, then place the coated apple onto the prepared parchment.
Let apples cool completely until the coating hardens and sparkles. Serve or wrap for a beautiful, edible gift
