  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare crust:
    – Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp edges decoratively.
  • Layer filling:
    – In a bowl, mix the pecan halves and chocolate chips.
    – Spread evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
  • Mix custard:
    – In another bowl, whisk together:
    – 3 eggs– 1 cup corn syrup
    – 1/2 cup sugar
    – 1/4 cup melted butter
    – 1 tsp vanilla extract
    – 1/4 tsp salt
  • Pour the mixture evenly over the pecan and chocolate layer.
  • Bake:
    – Place the pie on a baking sheet.
    – Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until the center is set and puffed.
  • Cool:
    – Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Serve:
    – Slice into wedges.
    – Top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
