Hibernation
Contrary to common belief, panda bears do not actually hibernate. Wild bears are capable of having a lengthy slumber during the cold months of winter due to their protein-enriched diet that mainly consists of meat, allowing them to go for long periods of time without consuming any nutrients. While panda bears tend to look chubby and full, their diet (being plant-based) doesn’t qualify them to hibernate because it doesn’t provide them with enough calories to do so.
